Monumental Tournament of Aces

In 2008 local realtor Mike Borody approached the Kimmett family about having a memorial golf tournament in the fall to honor Lindsay. A committee of friends and family came together and The Monumental Tournament of Aces held its first tournament on October 4, 2008 at Cochrane Golf Course. Through the years the tournament grew to 200 participants and eventually moved to The Links of Gleneagles. After 7 years with the original committee the LIndsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Foundation was pleased to partner with the Rotary Club of Cochrane and Cochrane Search & Rescue from 2015-2025 when the final MTA took place on October 4,2025. Through the 18 years of the tournament the MTA raised over 1.6 million dollars for local and international charities. Another 400k was spent in the Cochrane economy for goods and services. There were 25 ACES (hole in ones) made during those 18 years. Special thanks to the sponsors, volunteers and participants for making it all happen!

Monumental Tournament of Aces 2025 The Final MTA

So this is it! The final Monumental Tournament of Aces held on October 4 at LOG with over 180 golfers dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls. Once again the tournament supported two great local charities - Cochrane & Area Health Foundation and Cochrane Public Library. The 25th and final ACE was made and perhaps it is fitting the number of hole in ones over 18 years was the same as Lindsay's jersey number!. All of the 25 flags used in the tournament all these years were presented to family, friends, organizers and long time sponsors. Thanks to all who supported Lindsay's legacy on the golf course since 2008. The Kimmett family will have many fond memories of the first Saturday in October. MTA 16 took place on Saturday, September 30 at The Links of Gleneagles with 180 golfers enduring a cool, rainy day to raise over $85,000.00 benefitting The Friends of Glenbow Education Society, Big Hill Lodge. BGC Cochrane and Friends of Westbrook School Society.

Monumental Tournament of Aces 2022 “15 FOR 5!”

155 golfers enjoyed a spectacular fall day at the Links of Gleneagles on October 1, 2022. The 13th annual MTA was held during the Covid 19 epidemic and it was definitely different with a much smaller group of golfers playing a scramble format within their 4-6 player cohorts.
